Their sound balances reimagined repertoire with original compositions. Ella & The Bossa Beat present a sophisticated yet modern live experience- honoring Brazilian tradition while shaping a distinctly contemporary soulful voice within today’s jazz landscape.

Ella Blu

Born in Miami and raised in Brazil, Ella brings a rich bicultural identity to her contemporary bossa/jazz sound. Fluent in Portuguese and English, she moves effortlessly between languages — both spoken and sung — shaping performances that feel international, intimate, and deeply expressive.
In addition to her work as a vocalist, Ella is a pianist, guitarist, lyricist, composer, arranger, and co-producer alongside her father and musical collaborator, Magrus Borges. At twenty-six she presents a distinctive artistic voice defined by warmth, rhythmic precision, and a soulful tone that bridges classic American jazz and Brazilian musical tradition. Her improvisation — particularly her scat phrasing — reflects the meeting point of these worlds: classic American jazz sensibility infused with Brazilian rhythmic nuance.
In 2020, Ella received the Focus Brazil Award for Best Female Singer in Orlando, and is a member of the Recording Academy. Ella is also a graduate from Stetson University (22') with a BA in International Business and Music.
