Ella & The Bossa Beat is a dynamic international father-daughter duo featuring 25-year-old singer/pianist Ella, hailed as a 'new rising star of the Jazz generation,' alongside Grammy-nominated drummer Magrus Borges, known for his work with legends like Astrud Gilberto and Grace Jones. Their original music sound blends jazz soul with Brazilian jazz influences.
In 2020, they debuted with their album “My Remedy,” which jazz and pop enthusiasts praised globally. Their second album, “In the Moment,” released in 2022, showcases all original compositions and has gained popularity among jazz, Brazilian jazz and soul listeners, achieving #8 on the national Top 30 Latin charts and #15 on the national Top 50 Jazz album charts. The duo has earned accolades from top jazz publications like JAZZIZ and local outlets such as Orlando Weekly for their artistry and sophistication showcased in “In the Moment.”
Ella Blu, 'the new rising star of the Jazz generation' was born in Miami and raised in Brazil. Ella sings in Portuguese, Spanish, English, French and Italian. In addition to singing, she plays piano, guitar, writes lyrics, composes, arranges, and produces. At age twenty-five she presents a very unique style, with her soulful voice, and a strong influence of 'classic American jazz meets Brazil' when she scatt sings. In 2020, she was awarded 'The Focus Brazil' award for Best Female Singer in Orlando. Ella is a also a member of the Recording Academy.
Magrus Borges is a Grammy-nominated drummer, percussionist, composer, and producer from Belem- Para, Brazil. He has played and recorded with many international artists such as: Astrud Gilberto, Bebel Gilberto (Grammy-nominated for her album "Agora"), Shakira, Grace Jones, Tania Maria, Larry Coryell, Caetano Veloso, Luis Melodia, Johnny Alf (one of the fathers of Bossa Nova), among many others. He has recorded six original albums, produced for various artists and is a member of the Recording Academy.
As they perform worldwide, Ella & The Bossa Beat collaborates with international artists, including Toco, under the Italian record label Schema Records. Their single "Areia" has surpassed 200k streams on Spotify, and they are currently working on their fourth album, set to be released in 2026.
